About Pixelan Software Pixelan Software was founded 12 years ago on an artistic mission -- providing soft, organic, aesthetic visual effects as an alternative to the usual "engineered" built-in effects and visual cliches (i.e., hard-edged effects, violent explosions, tired 3D moves, uniform/inflexible looks, etc.) Combining that vision with cool technologies we have pioneered, such as our resolution-independent spice files, our luminance-based Mixer tool, modular presets, etc. creates the formula for some uniquely powerful effects that are easy to use and highly customizable. We keep our prices affordable, but we don't do dirt cheap packages of hundreds of little (mostly useless) effects/transitions like some outfits do. Nor do we create lots of different products or lots of version releases. We simply produce what we personally want to use or provide to others visually. We are driven by a passion for visual design, not software marketing. Our products are designed to fill visual/creative needs that built-in effects and other third-party packages do not fill well or at all. In 1996 we released Video SpiceRack, our first product, which received unanimous top-rated reviews. That led to an entire family of top-rated, popular visual effects plug-ins. In later years OrganicFX and then SpiceMASTER appeared, both of which proved to be powerful, popular solutions to users. That was fololowed with our industry-unique CreativEase suite of video effects plug-ins. And most recently, the latest version of our very popular SpiceFX for Movie Maker continues to provide high-end results to a wide range of video editors. Pixelan products are now used by more than 250,000 videographers and filmmakers worldwide. More than 10% of our profits are donated to non-profit organizations involved with reading literacy, non-violence, and green/earth-friendly efforts. |
