| Integrating the Results with Movie Maker |
| Export custom items into Movie Maker |
Click the Click here to export, then re-start Movie Maker button. Then re-start Movie Maker. That's all! There are no separate files to manually import into Movie Maker.
Tip: There is no need to exit Wizards – keep it open if desired for reference while applying the custom items in Movie Maker.
Tip: You must run Windows as an 'administrator' account for Wizards to export successfully. Most PCs already do this. If you instead use a more restricted 'user' account, visit the User Accounts control panel in Windows to switch to 'administrator'. After exporting from Wizards, you can then switch back to a 'user' account if you prefer. |
 |
| Find the exported items in Movie Maker |
Custom items will appear at the TOP of the Transitions (or Effects) section of Movie Maker. They will have the icon shown at right. Custom title animations from TitleFX PRO will appear in the Title Animation dialog of Movie Maker's titler.
|
 |
| Apply the custom items in MM |
Wizards custom effects/transitions are applied in Movie Maker just like standard MM effects/transitions. Drag an effect onto any clip (still-image or video) in the Video track. Or drag a custom transition onto any transition area of the timeline between two overlapping clips. (This is best seen in the "Timeline" view of Movie Maker's timeline.) |
|
| Apply an effect to part of a clip's duration |
Split the clip into two or more pieces in MM's timeline where you desire the effect to start/end, by (a) positioning the vertical maker in the Movie Maker timeline where desired, then choose Clip > Split in the Movie Maker menu. Repeat as needed, then drag a custom effect onto the piece where you want the effect.
|
|
| Change duration |
It's the same as standard effects/transitions in MM. For an effect: In the timeline view of Movie Maker, drag the clip's length longer or shorter. Or see above to apply the effect to part of a clip. For a transition: In the timeline view of Movie Maker, drag either overlapping clip to change the amount of overlap. |
|
| Revise a custom effect/transition in Movie Maker |
1. Revise the effect/transition in the Wizard. 2. Click the Click here to export, then re-start Movie Maker button. 3. Re-start Movie Maker. 4. IMPORTANT: Drag the SAME effect/transition onto your clip to replace the prior version.
Tip: Revisions will NOT affect any other project. Each Movie Maker project file retains the Wizards information that was active at the time of applying it, no matter what Wizards changes occur later. |
|
| Apply more than 40 custom items per Wizard in a project |
To create more than 40 custom items per Wizard per project, make AND APPLY the first 40 that are exported into Movie Maker from a Wizard. Then return to the Wizard and create and export additional custom effects/transitions. Last, apply those additional items to DIFFERENT clips in your timeline (i.e. clips that do not have any of the first 40 applied, thus NOT replacing a prior Wizard item). Movie Maker will correctly remember both the first set of 40 and later set(s), all in the same project! |
|
| Exit Wizards |
Click the Exit button in the lower right corner of the Wizards window. |
 |
| Additional PanZoom PRO Help |
| Position the start/end of a PanZoom effect |
Drag the center 'handle' of the blue (or red) frame in the right window's image to position the panzoom's start (or end).
Tip: Look in the left preview window as you drag to see the visual result of your changes. Note that the preview initially shows the mid-point of the effect's duration. To see other time points, use the controls under the preview. |
 |
| Pan left or right during the effect |
Position the blue Start or red End frame to the left or right of the other frame.
Tip: To move a frame only horizontal or vertical, old down the Shift key while dragging the center 'handle' of the frame. |
|
| Zoom in or out |
Drag a blue (or red) frame edge to zoom either in or out. To zoom in, for example, drag the red End frame smaller than the blue Start frame.
Tip: To have no panning occur during the zoom, click the Match button before re-sizing a frame smaller. Then both frames will share the same center point. |
 |
| Hold (constant zoom/position) |
Drag one frame to the position/size desired, then click the Match button. |
 |
| Re-center a start/end frame's position |
Click the Start or End frame, then click the Center button. To center ONLY vertically or horizontally, click the Center V or Center H button. |
 |
| High-resolution output for still-images |
Turn on the check box shown at right. Then click the Clip button above it to load the intended still-image clip (not video). This feature creates the sharpest possible output for zoomed still-images in movies -- a breakthrough for Movie Maker users!
Tip: Do not later move (or remove) the source clip on your drive, or the custom pan/zoom effect will not be able to find it to produce better output. |
 |
| Easing a panzoom move |
Click the Ease button and choose from 6 options to add a professional ease (i.e. acceleration/deceleration) to the beginning and/or end of the panzoom's movement. No other panzoom tool for Movie Maker offers this!
Tip: The top three options ease only the active segment (the green line between blue and red points) of the keyframe line. The bottom 3 options ease the entire clip. Leftmost options are linear motion (no ease); rightmost are the strongest ease. |
