SoftFX Transitions Pack T1 -- Tips     Previous  |  Next

• Select a SoftFX 'directional' dissolve to match the direction of action or shape of subject in either clip you are transitioning. The transition will seamlessly tie into the motion or shape as a beautifully blended effect.

In the example above, a SoftFX Dissolve Diag Arc directional dissolve emerges from the upper left corner to softly reveal the sunset clip, providing a subtle movement and curvature in the dissolve to match the arm action and sun shape. Note that the 'Arc' variation of several SoftFX adds a soft curve to the transition's edge, further blending the look.

• Iris-like SoftFX transitions are great for introducing a subject that is located somewhere near the center of the scene. But what if your subject is located more toward the right or left? Apply the new TL or TR variations of our SoftFX Iris Frame (or Iris Round) transitions! Those variations aim for the top-left or top-right of the scene.
