Pack T1 -- Tips Previous | Next Select a SoftFX 'directional' dissolve to match the direction of action or shape of subject in either clip you are transitioning. The transition will seamlessly tie into the motion or shape as a beautifully blended effect. In the example above, a SoftFX Dissolve Diag Arc directional dissolve emerges from the upper left corner to softly reveal the sunset clip, providing a subtle movement and curvature in the dissolve to match the arm action and sun shape. Note that the 'Arc' variation of several SoftFX adds a soft curve to the transition's edge, further blending the look. Iris-like SoftFX transitions are great for introducing a subject that is located somewhere near the center of the scene. But what if your subject is located more toward the right or left?
