AnyFX Technical Support FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

I'm not seeing an applied AnyFX effect animate in the Vegas preview. What's wrong?
This can happen on a small percentage of Sony Vegas systems due to the way the Vegas plugin architecture works in some versions. To solve it, look in the Vegas keyframer controls for the AnyFX event -- not the AnyFX built-in keyframer. (If the Vegas keyframer is not already visible, click the Animate button at the bottom of the Video Event FX window to make it appear.) Do you see a keyframe at the end of the event? If not, please do the following:
-- Make sure you have the Sync Cursor option in the Vegas keyframer turned OFF.
-- Manually add a second keyframe at the end of the event in the Vegas keyframer.
-- Select the first keyframe in the Vegas keyframer (click it or click the First Keyframe button there).

AnyFX is showing a black screen or no transition/effect. (Or AnyFX is not installing -- but I have a DirectX 9 compatible video card.) What's wrong?
AnyFX's speedy hardware-acceleration requires a DirectX 9 (or later) compatible graphic card. Even if you know you have a compatible-sounding card, for some users the card (or its driver) does not fully implement DirectX. Then the above problems can occur. Updating your card's driver has some chance of fixing the problem, but often doesn't, unfortunately.

In Sony Vegas Pro (any version) or Vegas Movie Studio (version 6 or later):

As a Video Transition...
Click Here button in Vegas1. Overlap two events in the SAME video track of your Vegas timeline, automatically creating a crossfade transition.
2. Drag AnyFX (the name, or a Vegas preset for it) from the Vegas Transitions list onto the crossfade. Or right-click the crossfade and choose Transition Properties, then double-click AnyFX. The AnyFX main window will then appear.
As a Video Effect...
Drag and drop AnyFX from the Video FX (or Plug-In Manager) window/pane in Vegas onto any event in your Vegas timeline. Or, click the Event FX button on an event’s icon in the Vegas timeline, then choose AnyFX in the Plug-In Chooser window. If the AnyFX main window is not visible, click the CLICK HERE button in the Event FX window (shown above).

Note that only one Vegas preset is provided for AnyFX. That is because AnyFX has dozens of built-in presets which are far more powerful and are all accessed from WITHIN the AnyFX interface.
