FAQs -- Frequently Asked Questions Product FAQs Is SpiceFX 4.0 only a download? Yes, which is common for software plug-ins now. It is a single 12 MB file. You can even download it on a different computer, if necessary, then transfer the downloaded file with a USB key, CD-R, or other media onto your Movie Maker editing computer before double-clicking the file to install. Does SpiceFX 4.0 have special hardware requirements? No. Any XP or Vista computer with Movie Maker 2.0 or later is fine. That means virtually ALL Windows PCs over the past several years. Note: Our new PageFX Transitions (Pack T6) and DepthFX Transitions (Pack T7) require Movie Maker 6.0* or later on Vista. (Not sure which Movie Maker version you have on Vista? See the Help > About Windows Movie Maker menu in Movie Maker.) On XP systems, Packs T6 and T7 will NOT be installed, but ALL OTHER Packs will install and work on XP fine. How is the DEMO different than the purchased version? They are identical, except the demo shows an "X" over the transitions and effects. You can explore the demo for an unlimited time. One of the five Wizards -- TranJelly™ LE to create beveled transitions -- does not show an X and is FREE and fully-functional, yours to keep even if you do not buy SpiceFX 4.0. If you later uninstall the demo, you can optionally choose to keep TranJelly LE. Does SpiceFX 4.0 work with any media/image? Yes, ANY video or still-image clips in the Video track of the Movie Maker timeline can be enhanced with our effects and transitions. And that is true with any output size Movie Maker supports, such as DV, HD, 16:9 wide screen, etc. Does SpiceFX 4.0 work in any program other than Movie Maker? No. But we offer other cool plug-ins here. Where is the Wizards tool? Double-click the Wizards for Movie Maker shortcut on your desktop. Unlike the pre-made transitions and effects in our many Packs, Wizards for Movie Maker is a separate program that creates CUSTOM transitions and effects that are imported into Movie Maker. Where can I find help about using SpiceFX 4.0? Click here. Buying FAQs What is the price of SpiceFX 4.0? See at left. We accept credit/debit cards from VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. We also accept Paypal and eCheck. Existing SpiceFX users receive great savings to upgrade -- click the Buy link at left to see the savings, which depend on what you purchased previously. What happens if someday my computer crashes and I lose the downloaded file or serial #? Use our tech support form to get a free re-download anytime. There is no risk! : ) I bought a few Packs a few days ago. I like them so much I want to get a Bundle. Can I just pay the difference in cost? Yes. If you previously purchased within 14 calendar days only part of SpiceFX 4.0, you can upgrade to a Bundle for just the difference in cost. After 14 days, the cost is still cheap -- just $5 more than the difference in cost. To add more, use our upgrade order form. Do you have educational pricing? We offer nice discounts on school site or lab licenses. If you have such a situation, please email us and mention how many editing stations you may want to purchase for. Is SpiceFX 4.0 for sale elsewhere? They are only available direct from us. What is Pixelan's return policy for SpiceFX 4.0? If somehow you become unhappy with your purchase, we will do our best to resolve it to your satisfaction, even though it is a download and thus there is nothing to 'return.' However, if you are unsure BEFORE buying SpiceFX 4.0, we strongly encourage you to download and install the DEMO before buying. It is easy to install, fully-functional, and will not interfere in any way later with the purchased version. What is Pixelan's privacy policy with my order info? Please see here. How long does order processing take? After submitting your order, a brief automatic email will be sent immediately to you to confirm we received your order information. Within 12 hours (but usually within an hour or less) payment processing will be completed and you will receive a SECOND email with your purchase/download info. We use real people, not automated Internet processing, so we can respond to special requests, order issues, etc. Processing therefore takes a little longer, but you will receive much better service if there is a potential problem. Thank you in advance for your patience. TIP: While waiting for your download info, you can apply the SpiceFX DEMO in your Movie Maker project. After you install the purchased version later, the demo's X will automatically disappear from the effects you have purchased. There will be no need to re-apply those same effects. I have not received my download info within 12 hours. What should I do? Please check your Internet Service Provider or email spam filter to see if our email has been filtered out. We tend to see filtering problems in Yahoo and AOL email accounts. If you still cannot find our email, please email us and we will promptly re-send it. (Consider providing an alternative email address to us, if possible.) Can I get a hard-copy receipt? We will email to you a detailed, dated receipt as confirmation of your order. You can print the email as your hard copy, which is suitable for most purposes (taxes, etc.). If you still desire a separate receipt/invoice, however, please email us or mention it in the Special Instructions box of our order form. We will then email to you an Acrobat PDF invoice on our letterhead. I feel uncomfortable purchasing on the Internet. Can I buy by phone, fax, or mail? YES. By phone, please call us at 360-647-0112 x1 Monday - Friday (excluding US holidays) between 9 - 3 PM PST. Other times, leave a voicemail message and we will promptly call back on the same or next business day. By fax, please complete and print this form using your web browser.
