SpiceMaster Help and Tutorials

Learning More About DissolveMaster -- Tutorials & Detailed Help

General Technical Support FAQs

1. Why is an X appearing over the SpiceMaster transition? An X means you have the DEMO version installed. The demo overlays an X on the plugin’s output. Upon purchasing, the X will disappear. If you have installed/activated the purchased version and you are still seeing an X, it could be the project file cache in Premiere or Vegas. One easy way to manually clear that cache in either program by doing a "Save As..." on your project file. Or you can render final output which should not show the X. If the problem still persists, next try applying SpiceMaster in a fresh project.

2. I installed SpiceMaster but it is not appearing in my video editing program... what's wrong?
a.
Please first check that you are looking in the right place within your editing software for SpiceMaster. (To see where, click the Learning More link below for your SpiceMaster version.) If you ARE looking in the correct place but still do not see SpiceMaster, go to the next step below.
b. Re-start your video editing program, since new plugins are loaded then. If you still do not see SpiceMaster, go to the next step below.
c. Did you recently download the SpiceMaster installer from us instead of using an old download from a purchase made in prior months or years? To receive a fresh re-download, use our Re-Download a Purchase link above. Run the installer and look in its window. Does it mention your video editing program? If not, you inadvertently got the wrong installer. If after running our latest installer, completing the installation and re-starting your computer you still do not see SpiceMaster , please contact us and mention the steps here you have checked.

3. I see only one SpiceMaster transition in my video editing program. Where are the others?
Some of our plugins come with many hundreds of pre-made effects/transitions and it is not possible to present all as separate items in your video editing software. Pre-made effects/transitions are available through the plugin interface in a large animated Effects Browser window to easily compare/choose presets and effect variations. (To see how to apply SpiceMaster and open Effects Browser window, click the Learning More link below for your SpiceMaster version.)

4. What are the differences between SpiceMaster 2.5 and recent SpiceMaster versions? SpiceMaster 3/4 Pro includes all the features users have loved over the years, but has been updated with a new interface for users with high-res monitors. It also has been speed-optimized for the latest video-editing app versions and uses your computer's video/graphics chip to accelerate its rendering. Requires Windows 7-11, 64 bit video-editing app and DirectX 9 compatible graphics card. SpiceMaster 2.5 is compatible with any WINDOWS hardware that runs the supported video editing software. It is also compatible with older or 32-bit video-editing apps and Windows versions (from XP through Windows 10).

5. Which version(s) of Pixelan plugins I have installed?
Windows: An easy way to check this, is to look in your Start menu for Pixelan followed by product name.
Pixelan Masters -- SpiceMaster 3.x for Adobe, Cyberlink, Magix and/or VEGAS/OFX, individual installers.

Pixelan FX -- SpiceMaster 4.x for Cyberlink, Magix and/or VEGAS/OFX, All-in-One installer.
Pixelan FX for Adobe -- SpiceMaster 4.x for Premiere Pro and After Effects, multiplatform compatible, All-in-One installer.

Pixelan SpiceMaster... -- you have an old SpiceMaster plugin with an outdated code/interface and we racommend an upgrade.
macOS: Look in your Applications folder for Pixelan followed by product name.
Pixelan FX for Adobe -- SpiceMaster 4.x for Premiere Pro and After Effects, multiplatform compatible, All-in-One installer.
